Our story
Made by Marcus Dell, Fort Smith.
I pull every print myself on a two-arm press in a garage in Fort Smith, and editions are small because I get bored. That is the honest version. The slightly longer one is that I like the moment a print comes off the screen more than I like the fiftieth copy of it, so I keep editions to twenty or so and keep moving.
Bluebird Press is screenprints, linocuts, and the occasional small oil painting when the weather keeps me inside. Subjects are mostly what is around here: herons on the river, the ridge line from my porch, a sun that does not photograph well but prints beautifully. Inks are water-based, paper is cotton rag, and everything is signed and numbered in pencil.
If you have a wall and a budget, I take commissions, and I will tell you if your idea is bad. Nicely.
